The checks
Sri Ranganathaswamy at Srirangam is HR&CE administered and covers 156 acres on the island between the Cauvery and the Coleroon, with endowment holdings well beyond the temple itself. Land carrying a devasthanam interest cannot be conveyed by its occupier.
The Cauvery and Coleroon margins carry poromboke classification vesting in the Water Resources Department. It appears in the revenue classification rather than in any document the seller hands over.
